Valley Way is nicely packed, please war snowshoes and keep it that way. Trail is windswept below the hut, be careful to find it if you're descending in poor visibility because all tracks disappear quickly. Five campers packed out a trail in fresh powder to the tent site.
Osgood has some deep snow down low in the tiny trees but lots of exposed rock to walk on towards the summit. No need for crampons or any special gear beyond the usual winter apparel.
Another brilliant day in the Whites, this was my partner's third attempt on the summit - who would have thought success would finally come in single digit temps with gusty winds knocking her over...
