Trail was well packed. I passed, almost exclusively, bare booters. Essentially rendering snow shoes ineffective. (certainly for the ascent) I turned around 1/2 mile beyond hut due to winds and temp. Many were up there enjoying the moderate temps.
Some sort of traction (crampons) is almost essential past the hut. Lots of hard pack snow and ice fields. Likely that barebooting pre-hut will be fine until this next round of precipitation.
