Mt. Tom/Field/Willey via Avalon, A-Z, Mt Tom Spur, Willey Range Trails

Trail Conditions: Packed but soft melting snow
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes required as the day warmed to 40+ F

Great day to hike! Spring in February. Trail from Highland Center parking to Mt Tom, Mt Field all the way to Mt Willey was well packed. The return trip down Avalon Trail to Mt Avalon also packed. Trail was bare bootable early in the morning but as the temps continued to rise to the mid 40s the snow was getting soft and snowshoes became required to prevent post holes. Snow in the trees was melting so on many parts of the trail it was line it was raining, despite the blue skies.
