Mt: Cannon
Conditions: Packed powder and some ice where the wind scoured the surface.
Equiptment Denalis all the way. Light micro fleece
was warm enough on this steep ascent. Threw on the eVent
shell (Thanks Wild Things you rock!) at 3300 feet just to stay "unsnowy".
Got an alpine start today and it paid off with moderate temps 14 at base and 6 at summit with light dry snow all the way as my companion. Winds 5-15mph NNW
The weather stayed soupy until I got down so no views from the top today from this, my favorite of all mountains .
A great reunion day for me, meeting old friends at the tram stations, top and bottom .
I kicked her butt on the ascent even after giving my knees to her over the years . We remain good friends.
