AKA
Little Squaw
Weather
35 to 40 def F, sun breaking thru clouds at times, up to 20mph+/- wind gusts
Access
via Rt 15 TH just W of Greenville Jct
Conditions
Approx 3'+ of base with the the trail was previously broken. Some week old+/- "fresh snow (1 to 2"+/-) on top. Mushy snow due to warmer temps.
Equipment
Snow shoes and typical winter gear (goretex wind shell parka, etc). (Crampons not needed today...)
Addtl Notes
Warmer temps today made the previously broken trail soft, but very manageable. The 3'+/- base was holding up today and "rebreaking" was typically not nec, except at few drifted in areas and final 150' ascent to summit. Snow was moderately clumping to snowshoes. Conditions could change creating heavier rebreaking of trail with warmer/above freezing temps predicted for at least tomorrow. Later in the week, with colder temps predicted at night (teens) and above freezing during the day could make conditions a mixed bag...
