We were there yesterday, saturday. Holt didn't appear to have been broken out in several storms when we hit Grand Junction so we took Clark up and did south peak, Cardigan, and Mowglis to Firescrew and down Manning. Clark side was well packed out and smooth. There is alot of ice crust up high and especially on the Mowglis and upper Manning. Every step created cascades of ice chunks running the trail. Manning had a lot of postholing in spots. The sun was bright yesterday and there was alot of melting down low but it was quite windy and cold up high where most of the ice was. We were down by 2:30 or so, so it may have soften up some more. Holt could be tough. The caretaker recommended we bring snowshoes, crampons and microspikes. We only used microspikes but thought about the others in a few spots. There is a lot of snow left there.
