Trail Conditions: Barebooted Ammo trail from parking lot to Gem Pool - solid snow with light snow on top. Crampons from there to the summits and back. Geri put on micro-spikes at the Gem Pool for the return to the parking lot. No need for snowshoes although we carried them. Solid snow cover all day - good hard packed snow.

Special Equipment Required: Crampons/poles/micro-spikes/sun screen

Comments: Trip report and photos to be posted next week - but these two photos should say it all. What an incredible day - at 1 PM the temp is reported to have been 10 degrees with a 14 mph wind- it sure felt much warmer. Except for the summit photo, hiked in a thin poly top all day!

Met two women at the summit of Washington in the midst of a Presi Traverse. They were 7 hours into it and looking great. For one this was her 3rd time on Washington this week. The other was 60 years old - Way to go!

What a way to start the Spring season!
