Morgan Road, (the road to Parker Ridge) is open and dry all the way to the trailhead.
We ascended via Parker Ridge, trail steep and fairly muddy in spots. Stream crossings not difficult at all. Trail passes over 3 great ledges. PR to the pond is 2.2 miles with 1700' elev.gain.
From the pond we ascended via Tumbledown Ridge Trail to West, East and North peaks. North is the steepest peak at 3090'. Trails in suprisingly good condition and the views spectacular. We continued to Lil Jackson (3470') and onto an unnamed northern knob of Lil Jackson to explore some great geological features.
We descended Lil Jackson trail which was fairly dry, some deep mud here and there but easy on the feet (unlike the rocky Brook Trail). No bugs yet!
North of the pond we found the trails a bit difficult to follow in some spots.
