Thank you, all! What a marvelous, marvelous day it was to be above treeline - far better than the forecasts predicted. Lion Head, Tuckerman Ravine, and Camel were new trails for me, too... always exciting to explore new terrain.
The amount of snow that still lingers on the Davis Path is just crazy. Although I'm not the best at estimates, I'd say that it's around 5 feet deep in areas (most likely in the places where we lost the trail ). Snowshoes were a definite for our trip, though it will be interesting to see how quickly the snow melts out.
