Trail Conditions: It was very wet and muddy the whole time in the woods. We did a lot of rock hopping and board walking to avoid very deep puddles all along the trail. Brook crossings were not a problem. Once we were above the trees it wasn't bad at all.

Comments: For the first couple of hours it was nice and sunny, then overcast for a while. Then it would burn off again and it was sunny. Great views from Saddleback. We headed over to the Horn, and once we got there it started sprinkling, so we didnt stay long. Back at Saddleback, we started hearing thunder, so we packed up our gear and headed out. We could hear thunder around us for the next couple of hours, but it wasn't too close. We only saw one lighting bolt and it was close. The thunder was loud, so we picked up our pace quite a bit. With about 1.5 miles to go, it cleared up, so we took our time getting back to the car. It was another great day hiking in the Maine mountains.
