Date of Hike: 2009.07.11-12

Trail Conditions:
Davis Path - great shape up until Stairs, mudhole between Stairs and Isolation
Isolation Path - like hiking in a stream. Water crossings very difficult.
Rocky Branch - Lots of water crossing and all were very difficult.
Stairs Col - Trail was in good shape. Minimal mud but very steep.

Special Equipment Required:
I wouldn't attempt these water crossings without poles.

Comments:
Camped out at Isolation/Davis junction Saturday night. The huge storm that night obviously did a number of the water levels. The crossings on the Isolation path were doable but scary. Levels were knee to thigh high on me. The numerous crossings on the Rocky Branch were even worse.

I saw number of hikers bailing out at the crossings and I think the crossing from the Rocky Branch Shelter near the Rocky Branch/Isolation junction was an impossible crossing. I certainly wouldn't have tried it today.

By far my most difficult experience with White Mountain crossings. I don't want this much adventure for a while!

I'l be putting photos at: http://www.sheeprocks.com
