I had the pleasure of cooking Nin his last Thanksgiving dinner on the summit.

Geez, for a second there, I thought you were carving up Nin for thanksgiving dinner.

For some reason I thought that Nin had perished back this winter and was replaced.

Coincidentaly, I hiked Washington July 15th ( the next day )
I've never been downstairs to the museum/gift shop, so I though I would check it out.

I immediately noticed posters of cats all over the place.
I asked the woman behind the desk how the new summit cat was, not realizing Nin died the day before.

She said," Great ".

There are posters, postcards, magnets, shirts ect. available for purchase of
the new cat, i want to say his name is Marty, but, not sure. mostly black,
Seems to be aclimated and doing well.:)

Here is a link to Eric Pinder's website, former Observer and author of 'Cat in the Clouds,' a recently published 32-page book for kids (apparently lots of photos). There is a classic photo (not sure if it's in the book, but is sold as a post card at the MWO museum) of Inga, who preceded Nin and Marty on the summit, in which she is stuck outside looking through a window with rime frost on her whiskers and a forlorn look in her eyes ('hey, when is someone going to let me in?).
