While Jay and I were doing Katahdin on 7/19, a woman (250 pounds) was airlifted from Chimney Pond in Baxter State Park. Supposedly she was injured on Hamlin Peak somewhere and was carried down to Chimney Pond.
Jay saw the chopper whirring by....and before we hiked in the Rangers warned us of a chopper rescue to occur during the morning.
Does anyone have any more exacting information on this incident?
