The Gale River Trail as of 06-September was in very good shape all the way to the Garfield Ridge Trail.

And likewise, the short segment of the Garfield Ridge Trail to the Galehead Hut was in good shape.

Regarding the Twin Brook Trail, beginning at its trailhead near the Galehead Hut, I was on this trail for about 1.25 miles and then headed off the trail for a short bushwhack to a ledge overlooking the Pemi. The trail was in excellent shape up to the point where I began the bushwhack. I met 3 other hikers who were coming up from the 13 Falls Tentsite and they reported that the Twin Brook Trail was in very good shape from the 13 Falls trailhead up to the point where I met them.

Some photos and additional commentary about this hike is located in the Trip Reports forum. (Click HERE)
