Crawford Path to Mts Pierce/Eisenhower/Monroe
Date of Hike: 10-17-09
Trail Conditions: Many icy patches from start of hike right up to summit of Monroe. Scattered patches of snow increasing in accumulation above 3K feet; hit some drifts between Eisenhower & Monroe that were nearly couple feet deep!
Special Equipment Required: Traction gear an absolute must today. We all donned microspikes well before we hit the Mizpah Cutoff and kept them on until we were almost out.
Comments: Beautiful day in the southern Prezis! Clear skies, warm sun, mild temps, long views for the entire trip. Met up with Bob Martin in the morning as we were coming down off Pierce. We were fortunate to have Bob hook up with us all the way to Monroe and back. We all enjoyed an excellent apres-hike tailgate party back at Bob’s truck.
