Date of Hike: 10/17/2009
Trail Conditions: Leaves, Mud, Frozen Mud, Ice, and Powdery Snow above 2200'
Special Equipment Required: None, and it wouldn't be helpful. Be sure to bring good, sound judgement.
Comments: The falls near the start of the trail are neat. With a larger volume of water, they might be spectacular. The north outlook on East Royce is worth the extra two-tenths of a mile / 5 minute walk. West Royce's view is disappointing. One of the few times in my experience, something in Maine is better than something in New Hampshire. Bah-zing. Other than that, the Royces are seemingly a rock climbers' paradise.
