Pine Cobble Trail and AT to the Vermont border are wet but exceptionally well-blazed.

The first mile and a half of the Pine Cobble Trail are steep, but footing is firm with plenty of rocks. From the summit of Pine Cobble to the VT border, the trail could use some puncheons - part of the problem may be that the three times I've hiked this section were all following (or during) periods of wet weather.

This is part of a couple of very nice loop hikes - up Pine Cobble and down the AT or up Pine Cobble, along the AT and LT/AT, then down Broad Brook Trail. If you are doing this latter, do so ONLY after or during lengthy dry spells - and be prepared to get wet on the brook crossings of Broad Brook Trail.
