Date hiked: November 22
Conditions: Dry Only found one deer tick!
Beautiful day to hike with the warmer temps. We hiked down the road to the water, and then were able to walk along the shoreline to the mouth of Atherton Brook. The beavers have created a lodge down near where the brook enters the Quabbin. They also look as if they were trying to create a dam. We decided to bushwhack along the right side of the brook to the road. Very pretty to see all the mini waterfalls. Terrain was quite open, except for a few jungly mountain laurel areas. Interesting area.
Back at the parking area by the gate, all the cars parked were Subarus!
