It's not a scenic vista, but my favorite outdoor pics this year are of my son on some of his first forays into the woods. Here he is enjoying a short hike to a white pine swamp near our house.

Osgood campsite, Mt Madison, in late spring. I wasn't even planning to stay at Osgood but turned aside from the Great Gulf due to high water. This mother and her inquisitive youngster woke me up in the morning.

Inspiration at Mt Martha Col

Hundreds to choose from, but mine has to be a unnamed mountain behind me and my voyageur team as we enter the southern end of Lake Laberge, Yukon Territory during the Y1000 canoe race last July. Sam McGee lies somewhere on the distant marge.
