    Reputation Points

I can only view reputation points back to 6/19/09. Is there anyway I can look back farther?

It appears that you can only view the last 20 comments. Is this your magic number as well?

Yes but I have an olds mans memory and I can't remember all that have been kind to me in the past and those that have not.

I still haven't figured out this reputation power thing. So some have more grace to grant than others because they have posted more often or been registered longer?

I'm not having a problem with that, I just want to undrstand.

So, just employ the 'what have you done for me lately' option!

From what I understand, the # of posts matter, your reputation score matters, and if you spread them around more that helps too.

I hate posting on reputation threads, but I just wanted to say that how long you've been a member matters as well

Nope, that's as far back as you get.

An explanation of the vBulletin Software's reputation system is here: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...ons_reputation. What values Darren has chosen can only be inferred... like 2 reputations per 24 hours, must tag A, then B, C, D, E, F before A again (5). Clearly more reputation and longer registration times have an effect too, but only Darren knows how much.

    Hope that helps your understanding.

You can't give too many greens or reds to the same person without spreading it around and the more greens the 'donor' has, the larger the impact of the reputation.
As expected, when we instituted the reputation system there was a lot of curiosity and anxiety. Other than the occasional question, we seldomly seldomly receive complaints about 'someone gave me a red square'.

I figure it's a lot better to reward someone with +xx (I'll never tell! ) than to punish someone with a -1.

There is a sticky in this Site Help forum that explains just about everything you need to know about reputation points:

Hey, just something I remembered! I don't know if this helps, but you can go back and see your rep points on the actual thread. Just go back to the post, click on your rep button on the left, and you'll see a list of the reputation points you received, and the comments left by the user who gave them to you (though you can't see who gave you the greenie).

Ok, you might already know this, but oh well.
