X-country skiing trail specification question

Howdy all,
I'll be modifying our cheap little sled we bought for our son so that we can use it on the nearby (totally flat) x-country skiing trails. I was wondering though what's the size of both tracks and how far apart are they from each other?

FIS rules allow some variety... Here's one article with a picture and some "specs", but you probably can't rely on an exact width - except that all tracks set with the same track setter should be the same.

Keep the ski width at or less than 60mm and make the separation adjustable and you should be good to go almost anywhere. (Make sure your ski mounts don't stick out too much--an issue with some kinds of XC bindings.)
