Date of Hike: 2/14 (Cadillac), 2/15 (Dorr). Both mountains have their own South Ridge Trail. We parked at Blackwoods CG for Cadillac, and parked at the Ladder Trail trailhead (just south of The Tarn) for Dorr (Ladder Trail to Canon Brook Trail to the South Ridge to the summit, back same way).

Trail Conditions: conditions vary from bare ledge, to ice, to 6-8" of snow.

Special Equipment Required: bare boot or use light traction. Still enough snow in spots to warrant gaiters; poles helpful on the occasional icy patch.

Comments: a great mini getaway to Acadia. Thanks to all the players:

Angela and Kenny (The Rocket Man) – for the hot tub, the warm beds, and providing yet another mountain to conquer: a mountain of fresh Maine shrimp for dinner Sunday night. It was a tough job, but we planted our flag on the summit.

Ann – for brownies on the summit of Dorr.

Atticus – thanks for suggesting Dorr.

Daymond – great seeing you again, and for the home brewed Coffee Porter.

Foster – for your guest room in East Boothbay, your heated seats, and your company.

Maddie – for sharing chocolate and celery on Cadillac.

Shastina the Wonder Cat – for purring in my ear this morning.

Wendy – for sharing chocolates. Great hiking with you again.
