Parked on the NorthEast Side (Eastern entrance on East St.) and hiked in over very little snow cover. The trail entrance field and open field areas had some untracked snow down to junction 40A, but mostly bare ground and ice/packed snow. From 40a to the scenic vista the trail was packed/tracked snow and ice. No traction needed, but wore Mil-Spec spikes on the return which made foot placement easier.
The snow was melting fast over the duration of the hike and will not last long in the springlike weather. The snow and ice cover made some of the trails hard to follow South of the vista.
