Haystack, Basin, Saddleback 3/11/10

All trails had previously been broken. There is a path going around the right side of Little Haystack which we took on the way to Haystack, but we discoverd no ice on the north side so climbed over the bump on the way to Basin. The broken path from Basin to Saddleback wandered a bit, though. The Saddleback chimney is full of snow and easy to ascend so head around to the right of the rock face. The snow is getting soft but was not sticky. Snowshoes a must. The Garden parking lot is still a mess with limited parking but fine during the week. If you arrive on the weekend be prepared to park in Keene Valley.
