Trail Conditions: The warm weather of the last few days has weakened Crawford Path - post holing has started if you don't wear snowshoes! Ascent to the ridge on Friday was no problem. Put on snowshoes at the trail junction. Only one low bridge required grovelling. Hiking down on Saturday was much softer, even though there was less sun.

The wrong turns have been blocked with twigs. Keep left ascending. If you want to loop down the ridge to the hut, take the right fork after the cut-off trail junction. Why? the trail from Pierce southward is very hard to find.

Equipment: Snowshoes and poles. No need for crampons, although many were wearing them. Light clothing was enough, with a shell for above treeline. A hat w/ visor and sunscreen!

Met Damselfly on the trail as I was descending. I see she had a great day!
