Traveled Mt Alander, Charcoal Pit, Ashley Hill trails, continuing to redline the South Taconic Range.
Muddy in spots, would have been good to have brought low-cut or even high gaitors.
Charcoal pit trail was a brook 1/2 way. The streams flowed heavily--a few dont show up on the maps at the kiosk. Crossing Ashley Hill Brook (high crossing) meant taking off your socks and boots, or straddling across a birch tree...I opted for the latter.
Poles would have been nice for the crossing.
No bugs, great area, gentle climbs, still wet.
