Trails: Mt Shaw Tr., Tate Tr.
Date of Hike: 04-15-2010
I parked in a small lot near Sodom road on route 171.
This would be a great hike for kids and dogs!
The blackflies were swarming but not biting!
Comments: Another wonderful sunny spring day. This hike starts at the Mt Shaw trail. Today there were hundreds of Trillium at the trail head. Fields Brook runs along the trail for awhile and would be a beautiful place to camp with kids. The Tate Trail breaks off to the right. Well marked with red and green. When you reach the balls the trail markings turn to blue. The trails are in excellent shape. This is a good hike if you don't have a lot of time and want to get in some time in the woods, ledges and have a few nice views.
