Date of Hike: Sunday May 16th
Trails: Tuckerman, Lion Head, Lawn cutoff, Davis Path, Boot Spur, Boot Spur Link
Trail Conditions:
- Tuckerman ravine has snow on trail for last half mile or so to Hermit Lake, it's still solid with a slushy top few inches
- Lion Head summer route is bare bootable, almost all rocks except for a few sections of snow, past Alpine Garden trail juntion theres a couple tenths of a mile in the snow but traction not necessary
- Lawn cutoff, Davis Path, Boot Spur to Boot Spur Link good to go!
- Boot Spur Link below treeline has a few feet of firm slippery snow and the trail is of course steep, snowshoes and poles are your best bet, without snowshoes postholing will be getting worse as snow gives out
Comments: Skiers out and about in the Ravine, very windy above treeline, great views! Trip report and pics here
