Date of Hike: 5/16/10
Trail Conditions:
Tunnel Brook - Plenty of downed trees, care required for some of the stream crossings. One minor bypass around the edge of one pond.
Benton - Scattered blowdowns. A good mile or so of snow, monorail up to almost 3 feet at maximum.
Special Equipment Required: None. Snowshoes would be needed to ensure no post holes, but post holes are not deep. Gaiters helpful if no showshoes. Traction may be helpful when snow and water freezes - was not necessary at mid-day when we crossed.
Above treeline the trails are clear.
Glencliff: Blowdowns were pretty well cleared, some snow.
Gusts at summit > 50 mph.
