Santanoni Range (05/17/10)

Road trail in fine shape, trail to herd path has gross mud in the usual spots, though in reality it can be walked for the most part down center (sand OK, black mud bad). Some old school corduroy on trail. Herd path had plenty of blowdown, only one notable monster (I went over it) and snow from stream upward from place to place. Ridges had mud snow and a tiny bit of slippery ice. At the first top cairn, still is a wrong temptation to go forward (right for Panter, left for Couchy and Santanoni).

Gear: wind gear, mud repellant.
