Below is a Trail Conditions summary. A few photos from this trek are located in the Trip Reports forum. (Click HERE)

Trail Conditions:

A) Zealand Trail: The trail overall was in good shape, except for the area around the beaver ponds where a few segments of trail were underwater, presumably due to beaver activity.

B) Twinway (from Zealand Trail junction to Mt Guyot): A trail crew has done a great job in removing all blowdowns. So, the trail was generally in good shape on the day of this hike. However, there were several muddy segments to pick your way through. And, as reported by others, the ladder was still missing a rung (only a minor inconvenience, and not a major problem).

C) Spur Trails (to Zealand Mountain, and to Zealand Pond): Both spur trails were generally in good shape. There were no blowdowns on either spur, but each of these spur trails did have sections that were quite wet/muddy.
