13-mile loop from Wild River Campground up Basin Trail -> Basin Rim Trail -> Meader Ridge Trail -> Eagle Link -> Wild River Trail back to CG
25 June
Trail Conditions: Trails mostly dry but some mud holes, all easily negotiated with help of poles. Few blowdowns on Meader Ridge and Eagle Link, more on Wild River Trail. Most easily negotiated, some on WRT required minor bushwhack around (herd paths forming). Water crossings on WRT were fairly simple rock hops. Crossing of the Wild River just above the Spider Bridge site was a little tricky but not bad.
Special Equipment Required: Typical summer hiking gear. I found poles useful for mud holes and water crossings.
Comments: Really a very pleasant loop. Grades are never very steep and there are plenty of views (streams, ferny woods, sweeping landscapes) throughout the whole trip. Bugs not bad except for gnats along the WRT.
