Jerimoth Hill (attempt) July 4, 2010

I started out with new trail runners, adequate hydration, and an ice ax (for the photo op at the summit). This would be the hardest 5' vertical in my hiking career. However, the sign at the trailhead said it was open to the public only until 4PM and it was going on 7PM. I couldn't believe this terrible misfortune, and groaned aloud in disappointment. This was my first time ever in Rhode Island, and at this rate, I wouldn't be back again til I was 112. At first I said I'd do it anyway, but knew that just wasn't right. I turned around in utter defeat, humbled by what I thought was just a laughable hill in a teeny-tiny state.
