This section of the Midstate Trail is in fine shape; minimal blowdowns that are easily navigable, dry and with the correct amount of stinging and biting insects for the latter end of August. One mile or so, north of Muddy Pond(we were heading south) we encountered some serious overgrowth and due to this, we lost the midstate for a couple of hundred yards. A simple back-track and a more careful eye allowed us to proceed. With a few casual ups and downs and sweet country pastures this section of the Midstate made for perfect mid-range trail run.
