When I climbed Silver Mtn in 1988, we bushwhacked up and followed a faint herd path down. Now SPNHF has blazed and cleared the trail to make a nice easy hike. Parked at the Ashuelot Headwaters Forest sign on South Rd SE of the peak and walked up woods road past gate. The junctions with other roads weren't signed but it was easy to follow the yellow blazes. Past a stone wall is a cellar hole where a hermit lived for awhile. The trail becomes narrower and steeper and passes some blueberry ledges before reaching the summit, where there is a stone chair and an old drill-hole-in-triangle survey marker. There are view in 3 directions, the
view N to the wind farm is mostly blocked by trees but you can see some wildmills poking through. Climb is about 500 feet in maybe 3/4 of a mile.
