Trail Conditions: Sugarloaf Trail in very good condition, dry all the way with only one blowdown after the cabin.
Percy Loop trail. Dry for first 1.5 miles then rough, rocky and often wet up to the Percy Peaks Trail. Open slabs were dry and easy to cross to the summit.
Equipment needed: Poles are always a help for balance!
Comments: We decided to conquer the Great North Woods today and do a twofer. Having made excellent time up and down Sugarloaf we were able to take a slightly more leisurely pace up the Percy Loop Trail. This trail has more blazes after the first 1.5 miles but still needs watching. A diversion about halfway from the bend to the top is flagged. Quite a lot of water and mud on that part of the trail. Vftt were magnificent and we could see forever! Cymdibium and I were joined by JB and had a great day out for the last day of summer!
