A beautiful day to be out on a beautiful mountain. Started at the Hopper Trail in Williamstown, then got on the Money Brook Trail to the falls.

Deep into the Hopper, where the low angle of the sun doesn't hit, it was a little chilly in there. Reached the Notch Road, and took the Old Summit Road to the AT. From there headed south to the top of Mt Fitch. Above 2900 feet, the snow was covering the ground about 2 inches thick. Continued following the AT until the junction with the thunderbolt Ski Trail, then took a connector trail to the other side of the ridge and the Notch Road. Took a steep hike down to Robinson Point, and enjoyed the view from there.

Planes were towing gliders over the summit to take advantage of the thermals.

I had wanted to hit the summit, but the time was flying and the sun was getting low on the horizon, so I returned back to the Notch Road, this time with Micro-Spikes on. I took the Overlook Trail to the Hopper Trail, and followed that down to the parking area. 6 hours, 11.9 miles and saw 1 person all day, which was surprising because there were a dozen cars in the Hopper parking lot.

The snow wasn't a problem to hike in, until I took the steep trail to Robinson Point, then the Micro-Spikes were necessary.
