*Overall, still very much like the conditions reported by SF a few day ago.

Trail Conditions:

Lincoln Woods Trail - dusting of snow, rail ties still exposed, wet/icy in spots, but overall drier than expected.

Black Pond Trail - Less wet, dusting of snow, some icy spots.

Lincoln Brook Trail - the 2-mile or so stretch on the LBT was the iciest of the day. Dusting to an inch of snow. Both crossings of the brook before the BBW were challenging with icy rocks - traction helpful.

Owls Head Path - Plenty of minor blowdowns as expected. Nothing substantial.

Special Equipment Required: Waterproof shoes/gaiters for the bushwhacks primarily. Light traction (microspikes) needed on the Brutus BW and two crossings. General cold weather/rain gear.

Comments: Stayed relatively high on contour on the BP BW to avoid the wet sections. We were behind two small groups (2 and 3), who led a great line up the Brutus BW. 10 degree (!) difference from bottom of BW (25 F) to summit (15 F). Great hike with Danno - his first trip to OH - Nice day to be in the woods and out of the wind. Moved "fast" - conditions good for it. Socked in all day, no precipitation or sun, cold wind on the summit but protected rest of day. Awesome.
