Tim,
What time did you take that Monroe shot? We were on Monroe yesterday about 10:30 a.m. and didn't have that great undercast. We then headed on to Ike and Pierce and were in the clouds more often than not. Great shots as usual!

John - that was taken at 1:45 pm from the upper part of the Jewell trail. The only other thing I could see above the clouds was Franconia Ridge. Sphinx Col was in and out of the clouds:

kevinmac- today I was using a Canon 5D MkII with 24-105 zoom. No tripod today, so for the action shot I used a soft shell jacket bunched up on top of a short cairn for a camera support.

I thought I had a great outing on Owl's Head yesterday until I saw your pictures!

Time to change screen saver :)

We did Monroe, Eisenhower, and Pierce on Sat...cloudy and not much to see until we hit Monroe...the, the sky graced us with blue, sun and AWESOME clouds...when we hit Pierce...the clouds and snow came back. it was an AWESOME DAY TO HIKE!!

Great clear shots Tim! I notice the use of the ultralight gear- backpack and snowshoes....

Fabulous shots, as always, Tim. Your first shot is reminiscent of our hike up the Jewell Trail to Jefferson two seasons ago where we climbed out of the undercast to a fabulous day.
