Date of Hike: 12/23/10
Trails: Hale Brook, Lend-a-Hand, Twinway, Zealand trail
Trail Conditions: Fresh fluffy snow from 8 inches to a foot plus with higher drifts covering a solid base in most spots (had to re-brake trail). Snow depths increased alot above 3,700 feet, some 2 foot plus drifts on Lend-a-Hand. Hopefully with not much snow falling today it's still pretty broken out but don't know for sure because of wind.
Twinway is broken out very good to Zealand summit spur. Twinway past spur towards Guyout had no recent use as of 2pm Thursday, so expect so slow going and snow drifts.
Zealand Trail had choppy bare boot tracks but should be improved after I hiked over them
Zealand Road has snow mobile and X-Country ski tracks but no definite snow shoe tracks. Tons of snow on the road!
Comments: Very long day but a great hike! Only saw two hikers the whole day which amazed me, I thought Zealand would be have alot more traffic. No views and pretty darn cold! Trip Report and pics here http://dailey7779.blogspot.com/2010/12/hale-zealand-28-29.html
