Two of us went in via the short trail and Elk Pass and out over Dial. There is little more than 12 inches of snow at higher elevations. The trails are well packed, but snowshoes should be used. There is some ice on the trail from the ponds in Elk Pass to the trail junction, but snowshoe crampons worked well.
