XIV Annual Adirondack 46er Winter Climber Dinner Saturday, 3.26.11

... It's at the Crowne Plaza in Lake Placid. There's a social hour from 5-6PM with a cash bar, followed by the excellent buffet from 6-9PM. The buffet offerings will be the same as last year: Beef, chicken, vegetarian pasta, fish, salad, rolls, vegetable, potatoes, coffee/tea/milk and dessert. Prices are also the same as last year! $31 for adults, $15 for kids 4-12. Price includes tax, tip, dealer prep, airport fee, soda pop, NAFTA tariffs, and re-stocking charge.

...It's not just for completed Winter 46ers. It's also for aspiring W46ers, friends and family, and anyone with an interest, healthy or morbid, in meeting or just observing(safer) people who do this.

...As always(almost), it's on the first Saturday after the end of Official 46er Winter, which is always 3.21, which is always exactly seven days after ∏(Pi) Day, 3.14

...This used to be called "...Gathering...", but that has caused confusion with another forum's event at the Ark.

BULLETIN: Whether or not Lindsay Lohan goes to jail will NOT affect the entertainment portion of the evening. No program is planned, so the entertainment will consist entirely of the stories and observations of REAL people: Your fellow hikers and you.

If you haven't sent in your payment yet, don't worry too much about the March 17 deadline. That's when Peggy has to give the Crowne Plaza the head count. If you're sure you're going to go but don't have time to get the check to peggy, just contact her (see previous post by Neil) by the 17th and tell her how many. But when you tell her, please consider it a commitment to pay even if you don't get there.

a correction and a suggestion

Correction: The social "hour" will now run from 5:00PM to 6:30PM. Dinner will start at 6:30PM.

Suggestion: If you have a name tag from a previous 46er meeting, bring it to help the acquaintance process. You can use your real name, forum name, or both, and whatever other info you want. Some people there may be specifically looking for you, and this will help. Don't worry, we seldom get bounty hunters or process servers at these dinners.
If you don't have one or just forget it, Peggy may have some at the table when you enter the room.
