As of end of day Sunday January 30 . . .

Trail Conditions: Hiked by approximately 20 people in a half dozen parties today - despite snow showers, the route remained thoroughly broken out as reported for Saturday - atop a great bed of styrofoam - all the way from the parking lot to the S. Kinsman cairn. Just as we finished around 5, a heavy snow shower kicked up.

Gear: Bare bootable for the most part without post holes, although snowshoes will save you a lot of energy on the ascent. In a half dozen spots on the upper Fishin Jimmy, the snow has worn through to black ice on protruding rock lips and faces - these need to be negotiated carefully.

Comments: Though views were only possible for a small subset of the time, the trail conditions and light winds made for a great day.
