Three day weekend (off on friday) and thought I'd get some use out of the MA/CT AT guide I bought from the Arc Shop a few months ago so I decided to check out the AT in and around the berkshires...

Friday, I did a simple out and back from Blotz road in Dalton to Warner hill and then backtracked to head south to Pittsfield Road by the northern end of October Mtn State Forest.

Saturday, I did a shorter loop on much harder snow as friday was in the 50s and warm. Snow was back to being plasterboard so that was cool. Did a Loop from Grange Hall road south to Tully Mtn and a side trip to the beaaauttiful Kay Wood shelter and then hiked down the power line back to the road, just so I could do a loop and not repeat a trail section..

Since I was in the neighborhood, I also wandered over to check out Wahconah Falls just a bit north and east of the AT through Dalton..

Then sunday, I did a real gem, probably my favorite AT hike this weekend, Parked in Lee/Becket border along Jacob's Ladder Road, aka Rt 20 and walked over I-90 to Upper Goose Pond to the cabin and then bushwacked around the pond itself til I picked up the AT on the far side. Then hiked back on a beautiful sunday, with the snow as hard as concrete. probably could of just used my microspikes it was solid.

Bonus shots of my Subaru hitting 100k miles....
