Trails: Ammo Ravine, Crawford Path; Cog tracks Crusty/granular snow to treeline/Lakes Hut; windblown frozen crust/ice above to summit.

Gear: We used snowshoes to about treeline (helpful in pm when snow softened); crampons above due to ice/frozen crust + ice axes on 30-40 degree slopes. Glacier glasses a good idea on full sun/reflective snow day.

Optimum day! Blue sky/sun all day, views clear. Kestrel data: T=16F W=12-20mph M=17 WC= 0F +/-3F

Superb day just cool enough to keep surfaces solid until pm. Another day crossing paths with Hiker Ed & group @ summit.

Descent along tracks easier than it used to be due to ski slopes and 'maintenance road' above.
