Mt. Crawford, Stairs Mountain via Davis Path Trail Conditions Needed

Does anyone have any recent information on the trail conditions for the Davis Path to Stairs area?

We are planning the same trip tomorrow, and arguing about snowshoes. We definately needed them last year at this time.

Traditionally, snowshoes are needed this particular weekend every year on this particular trail

this section of trail is among the last to loose the snow in all the White mtns.

Typically the upper sections of mountain trails are icy and packed down through most of May, if the trail was used during the winter months. Instep crampons or micro-spikes will probably be more useful. If going off trail, that's when snowshoes would be needed.
