trails: mittersill ski trails, taft ski trail
conditions: we were able to follow a nice route up the mittersill ski trails which have had a lot of work done on them since i was there last year. mostly good footing and a bit more pleasant than some of the traditional hiking routes to cannon. parked down by the new ski lift. there was one sign at the summit tower prohibiting hiking on the ski trails, but we had no hassles. bugs were out higher up on mittersill peak.
equipment: nothing in particular.
comments: nice afternoon follow up to moriah. great views with high clouds cooling things off a bit. really like this approach to cannon via mittersill peak which would be a worth while destination in its own right with its great views.
