From the sounds of it they were working down the steep trail between E peak and Pinkham. If you've ever hiked through there you know why they called for more volunteers. And you know that you never want to be hanging in a basket from ropes over a couple of those ledges!! 
Hats off to the rescue crew for getting EVERYONE down safe.
Hope the hiker ends up alright.

I just did that trail tuesday got to the top of the ridge and it started raining. passed 7 or 8 sobo thruhikes I felt bad for them Having to go down that trail in the rain. I wonder if he was going up or down?
