Great hike - all trails in perfect shape. MATC has the best trail crews in New England.

The (private) dam across the outlet of Pierce Pond could be problematic in high water. Two possible ways around it - Harrison's Pierce Pond Camps has a (private) corduroy bridge that connects a blue-blazed side trail with the AT just south of the Dam. Also, a bit farther south there is a (former) logging bridge from the road in to Pierce Pond that is quite sturdy and in a-one shape.

A more stable surface could be put across the dam (current route), an easy reroute could take the trail across a the current corduroy bridge, though it would be good to replace the deck with more contemporary architecture, or a more extensive reroute could take advantage of the solid logging bridge from the road to Pierce Pond. This last would be the safest, though it would require a more extensive reroute.
