Trails: Blueberry Ledge, Rollins and Kate Sleeper trails.

First half mile of Blueberry Ledge trail was muddy. Blowdowns previously reported have been cleared however, many downed trees in those areas are evident on both sides of the trail. Ledges were dry today and hiking up and down them was enjoyable.

Kate Sleeper trail was very wet in some spots on the descent from Whiteface and trail had 4-6 blowdowns near the side trail to the summit; easy to navigate around, though. Trail is well marked and easy to follow.

No special equipment was needed today.

Saw many people on the south summit of Whiteface and a few on the Kate Sleeper trail. Though some spots of Kate Sleeper were wet and mossy, the trail wasn't slippery and we made excellent time to East Sleeper from the Rollins/Kate Sleeper trail junction.

Part of our group helped to bring the flag up to the summit of Whiteface today. The flag coordinator, Becky M., organized the effort to pay tribute to others on what is a very special day for her. Whiteface was her 48th NH 4k.

A dog was injured heading down the ledges of the Blueberry Ledge trail.
